I’m invited to a party over at The Novice Gardner. I LOVE parties! Angie is hosting Fiesta Friday, and what fun is a party without popcorn? And not just any popcorn. I walked into the kitchen last Sunday and found my girls making this sweet treat. It was Charlotte’s idea and of course where popcorn is involved, Emma is sure to be there! Foraging through the pantry, Charlotte came across some Belgian milk chocolate and toffee bits. She told Emma her idea and off they were, making a mess in my kitchen. Do you recall when I mentioned that all I wanted for Christmas were little elves to follow me around all day, picking up after me? I neglected to mention that I’ve already got my little elves, only instead of cleaning up the messes, they create them! So, drop by Angie’s Fiesta Friday #2 and enjoy the party!
Charlotte’s Chocolate-Toffee Popcorn
Popcorn kernels
Belgian milk, or dark, chocolate
Toffee bits
Sea salt, optional
Pop the kernels and spread the popcorn onto a couple of baking sheets. Melt the chocolate using a hot water bath, or bain marie. Using a spoon, pour the melted chocolate over the popcorn. Immediately add the toffee bits, so that they can adhere to the chocolate as it cools. Sprinkle with sea salt for a sweet and salty popcorn. Oh! So yummy! Perfect for any party. Have a great weekend!
Elves in the kitchen – what could be better?!
What could be better? Elves that clean up! 😉
Yum! I love anything with toffee bits 😀 These look so pretty and delicious! No need to buy from Popcornopolis anymore!
Oh, I know. Toffee bits and I are best friends!
Tell Charlotte and Emma they did really good, what a delicious recipe for popcorn. Must try this!
I passed on your message Suzanne and my little sweethearts are very proud!
What darling helpers you have. Lucky!
They really are darlings… especially when they’re not fighting! 🙂

Oh, your little helpers are so adorable! And Lidia, I think you can read my mind. When I wanted risotto, you came up with the perfect risotto recipe. When I asked for stroganoff, you again answered. Then, today, what else do I want? Chocolatey toffee popcorn, of course. And you obliged! Girlfriend, you’re the best. Thanks for coming to my party! XOXO
My little darlings really are adorable… especially when they’re asleep! So angelic… 😉 What are girlfriends for? I quite enjoyed myself at your party, meeting all of your wonderful guests! Thanks for having me.
Great thinking Charlotte and Emma! Looks fabulous!
Oh, I so loved that popcorn Margot. I was quite impressed with my girls!
This looks scrumptious…your elves did good methinks 🙂 great to see the creative cooking genes are being passed down too I’m sure x
Me elves did good indeed! I sure hope the cooking genes are being passed down.
Charlotte and Emma… You two are are too pretty! And your popcorn looks seriously decadent and divine. I do love a savory and sweet treat, Lidia! And toffee and chocolate in any form. Of course, the braces and the toffee don’t agree, but anything for the sake of gastronomy. Gorgeous recipe – have a great weekend! Best, Shanna
Oh, what we do for the sake of gastronomy… I passed your message on to my girls and they were very proud! Thanks Shanna.
I love popcorn anyway you make it and this would be the best I have ever tried! I’m keeping the recipe handy. I just need to pick up some toffee and we’re set to go! Great creativity in the kitchen!
Oh, I am so with you on the popcorn thing. I’ll eat it with whatever!
I’m in the fiesta Friday as well! I love the looks of this popcorn! It would be such a great gift to give dressed up in a cute little bag! Thanks for sharing!
Actually, Charlotte is going to be making this treat again for Valentine’s day, only with ed and pink chocolate melts. She wants to hand them out in little bags for her friends. Isn’t that cute?
I love that idea! Perfect for valentines day!
Looks wonderfully yummy! I am going to try this with my son, he will love it! 🙂
I’m sure he will. Who wouldn’t? 🙂
Great popcorn recipe and so lovely to see your gorgeous girls xx
Oh, thanks Elaine! They are my pride and joy!
xxxx
That looks absolutely delicious! Well done!!!!
I know, right? My girls are pretty awesome!
Such a good popcorn recipe, bookmarked and thanks for the Fiesta Friday fun!
My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by.
That looks amazing!
It is oh-so-amazing!
Oh.. my gosh this looks amazing!! What a wonderful treat! And what a treat to have such adorable elves scampering around in your kitchen with you:) Their smiles are as sweet as this lovely snack! Now I’ll be craving this one for quite some time!! xx
Thanks Barbara. My elves really are adorable… most times!
Everyone loves popcorn and this recipe sounds sooo good 🙂
Everyone does love popcorn it seems. And you can dress it up with such a variety of things, you could actually have a different popcorn each time.
I have a bag of toffee bits. I have popcorn. I have sea salt. I have chocolate. I have two daughters. I’m set!!! Hurray. 😉
Yay! What more can you ask for? Your girls will LOVE!
Looks delicious! All my favorite things combined!
I know, me too! 🙂
Oh my what a great recipe your girls came up with! Now I know what to do when I have some extra toffee bits!
It’s amazing how creative my girls can be. I would have never thought of that.
I have just purchased my first ever bag of popcorn that I have to pop myself! This is going to be on top of my list to try 🙂
Oh, how exciting Tandy! There’s nothing better than popping your popcorn. Except adding dark chocolate and toffee bits to it! 🙂
Chocolate and toffee are a great combination. I’m going to make this for the next movie night. Thanks for sharing!
They sure are. And with a touch of salt, even better!
Yummers! What a fun way to spend a Friday. Great little treat and it looks like the kids had fun making it.
It’s the perfect treat! And they were quite proud of themselves!
I love popcorn and I love chocolate. In my mind I have convinced myself that popcorn is calorie free! and this recipe is prefect because the chocolate does not entirely coat them making them only very slightly naughty. So its a win win!! You might not have tidy elves but you certainly got clever beautiful ones.
Win win indeed Maria! And well said… who needs tidy elves when I’ve got clever ones! 😉
The popcorn looks so kid friendly…and our little elves are also specialized in creating messes as well! 😉
Oh, I’m sure your kids would love this popcorn. Who wouldn’t? 🙂
I’m such a popcorn fiend that I named my dog Popcorn 🙂 I’ve never tried choc w/ popcorn but this looks gooood.
I love that name for a dog. He must be so cute! You really should try popcorn with chocolate, it’s scrumptious!
Sorry, Lidia. I’m far behind geting around to everyone’s blogs and just noticed that I’ve not received notifications of your posts for some time. I’ve just “unfollowed” and “followed” you and hope that resolves the issue.
Your beautiful daughters may have made a mess of your kitchen but they sure did make a fantastic snack. I love toffee — Skor bars are the best! — and what a great idea using chocolate to “glue” it to popcorn. They’ve obviously inherited your cooking genes. 🙂
Oh, I don’t really mind the mess as long as they’re having fun and being creative. And I sure do hope that they’ve inherited my cooking genes! 🙂
Oh these look so good! I can almost taste the sweet salty goodness from here:) A must-try…
Definitely a must try! 🙂
